Brief description of project

The existing house is situated on a quiet pan-handle within the Westcliff precinct. The house was originally designed to suit a busy corporate couple; however, the client approached JVR with the intention of updating her home to suit the needs of her now growing family.

The brief was to open up the house to the newly manicured gardens with a new covered terrace that allowed for indoor-outdoor entertaining. The internal finishes were updated and the volumes increased, bringing a sense of warmth and openness to this now family-oriented home.

Working closely hand in hand with the client, the interiors were meticulously curated to suit the client’s design aesthetic and incorporated her extension art collection. Bespoke pieces are evident throughout the home, including striking chandeliers filling the now double volume space with a sense of whimsy.
